Mission & Vision

Founded by the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, the KIBI Library supports the Institute’s mission to preserve and transmit authentic Buddha Dharma for seekers worldwide, while safeguarding valuable texts for future generations. By modernizing its facilities to meet today’s academic needs, the library remains a place where both scholars and Dharma students can develop wisdom, compassion, and mindfulness.

“Education is invaluable, because it helps us to cultivate the innate pure qualities that we all possess as human beings. The emphasis and direction of education should be to help develop consciousness, and support people in nurturing the innate values of wisdom and compassion that we all possess, for the benefit of society.”

Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa
