KIBI’s upcoming academic BA program

We are happy to announce that KIBI will commence a degree program in Buddhist Studies for the first time. The degree program will be offered in collaboration with Mewar University (MU), Rajasthan. Registration will be open from 10^th of May to 30^th of July.

1.    New BA in Buddhist Studies program in KIBI from 2014 onwards

We are happy to announce that KIBI will commence a degree program in Buddhist Studies for the first time. The degree program will be offered in collaboration with Mewar University (MU), Rajasthan.

We are aware that there are hundreds of students who received a valuable Buddhist education from KIBI in the past. Nevertheless, in order to guarantee that our graduates will be able to properly engage with the international community of Buddhist scholars in our modern societies, to offer a recognized degree has become an issue of great importance. Therefore we are doing our best to provide students with a Buddhist education of high quality, as has been the case in the past, but additionally also offer an opportunity to earn a recognized degree.

We suggest you carefully study the application form and make sure that you fulfill all the requirements necessary for admission. A copy of your application form has to be submitted to KIBI once you reach Delhi. Please note that ordinary mail may take a very long time to arrive in India from abroad.

Registration will be open from 10^th of May to 30^th of July. Registration fees and exam fees will be charged separately by the University before the start of the exams. Registration fees and tuition fees have to be transferred to the bank account of MU together with the submission of the application form. Afterwards, MU will grant roll numbers and an acceptance letter. The acceptance letter will be send along with receipts for the fees to your postal address respectively. You can directly apply for an Indian Student Visa through the visa office of the Indian embassy of your country after you received the documents from the university.

However, charges for accommodation, board and the general KIBI administration are to be directly submitted at the KIBI Office after your arrival in India.

An orientation program will be held at MU. This means that all KIBI degree students will travel together to MU in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, at the beginning of their first semester. The exact travel dates and schedule will be organized by MU and KIBI.

 Former KIBI students who already earned a diploma certificate of KIBI or completed equivalent education in KIBI, and also the current KIBI academic students, can directly enter into the 2^nd year of the BA program. Concerned students should tick “lateral entry for BA studies” in the application form. The KIBI office will then send the mark sheet papers for the 1^st academic year of current KIBI academic students to the university. Former KIBI students who apply for lateral entry are requested to send a copy of their mark sheets to KIBI.

Although the course runs only for a period of seven months as an actual on-site course, we will have to charge you the study fees for eight months due to the UGC rules for running an academic year. Your period of enrollments is counted from the 1^st of September until the 1^st of May. If you take vacation for the whole of the semester break, KIBI won’t charge you for accommodation and board during your leave.

A. Hostel, Fooding and Administration charges per month per student

The payment has to be made directly to KIBI Office

1. Meal charge per student per month:                   INR  9,000
2. Double Attached Bathroom per student:           INR  6,000
3. Double Common Bathroom per student:           INR  3,000
4. Incidental charges of the Administration:           INR  922

Note: Payment has to be done in the first week of your arrival in KIBI.

B.   Course related fees:

The following payment has to be made to Mewar University

1. Registration Fee:  INR 2,000 (one time). (Includes speed post document delivery from MU)
2. Tuition fee:            INR 16,000 Per semester (Each semester is consist of 4 months)
3. Exam fee:               INR 3,000 every year (includes two semesters).
