KIBI Public Meditation Course Has Started

Merry Christmas everyone! The KIBI public meditation course 2014 began today. A total of 174 participants from 23 different countries joined in!

The course introduction was given by Khenpo Mirti followed by an explanation of what Sojong is by Ven. Dupsing Rinpoche. The PMC participants were also fortunate to receive the oral transmission (lung) of the four preliminary foundations by H.H. Gyalwang Karmapa. H.H. Karmapa wished his students all over the world a very merry Christmas and spoke of how Vinaya is an integral part of practice, encouraging everyone to engage in Ngondro wholeheartedly.

The Sojong retreat started today morning at 6:00 AM. It was lead by Ven. Dupsing Rinpoche, giving the Sojong vows to the participants. In the first session of teachings today, Ven. Dupsing Rinpoche explained the importance and significance of the four preliminary practices of Ngondro. The next session of teaching was given by Ven. Khenpo Nyedon on the preparatory practices involved in Shiney meditation.

In the evening, post the oral transmission of Ngondro, the participants engaged in Chenrezig meditation practice and the prayer of calling the Guru from afar, in the presence of H.H. Gyalwa Karmapa!
This Christmas was indeed a merry one for everyone here at KIBI!
