Location

K.I.B.I. is located in a beautiful building constructed in the style of a traditional Tibetan monastery. Just opposite to the institute is a large park with a great view.

The main building is a big four storied building containing the dining hall, a large temple, class-rooms, a lecture hall, the café, the student lounge, offices and H.H. Gyalwa Karmapa's private quarters.

Surrounding this building in a semicircle is the students' accommodation containing rooms in two sizes. The small rooms have an attached private bathroom and the larger rooms have a common bathroom. It is possible to live in either type of room by oneself (single) or to share it (double). All rooms are of the same standard and are equipped similarly, with a bed and basic bedding, desk, chair, bookcase and wardrobe. Depending on the type of accommodation prices range for the full three months course. It is also possible to stay for a shorter time at K.I.B.I. on a daily rate. However, one should bear in mind that it makes most sense to attend the full course. Priority for rooms and type of accommodation will be given to students attending the full course. The course fee includes lodging and board. The board consists of three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner and access to filtered and boiled water during the day. In the main building there is a café, where we will offer tea, coffee, cakes and basic daily needs. The student lounge is a room for getting together, chatting and relaxing.

There is a computer room with the possibility to connect to the internet. There are a limited number of stationary computers, so please bring your own laptop if possible. It is also possible to transcribe the teachings from each day (see practical information).
